The name

It reads as Sir. It stands for three names.

In scaffolding, the standard is the upright that carries the load. It is also the level you hold yourself to.

The story behind the name

Steve

Ian's dad. The scaffolder he learned the trade beside.

Ian

Over 25 years in scaffolding, and the one who answers the phone.

Rowson

The family name, and the one that goes on every job.

How a job runs

Priced to the job. Up when you were told.

  1. 1

    Tell us the job

Four taps on this site, or a phone call. What the work is, how high, which sides, and when.

  2. 2

    Ian looks at it

From your photos or in person, so the price fits the building and not a guess at it.

  3. 3

    You get a price

One price for your job. If something would change it, you hear about that first.

  4. 4

    It goes up

On the day you were told it would, ready for whoever is working off it.

  5. 5

    It comes down

Ring when the work is finished and the scaffold is struck and taken away.

About Ian and the name

Before you ring.

The things people ask a scaffolder first. If yours is not here, ask Ian.

How do I get a price for scaffolding?

Answer four quick questions on this site or ring Ian on 07984 373407. He needs to know what the work is, how high it goes, which sides of the building and when. Photos help. The price you get is for your job, not a guess from a list.

Do you put scaffolding up for homeowners, or only for builders?

Both. S.I.R takes on residential, commercial and industrial scaffolding, smaller access jobs like a tower at a gable, and edge protection. If you are a homeowner, it helps to know which trade is using the scaffold and what they need to reach.

Which areas do you cover?

S.I.R is based in Denaby Main, so Conisbrough, Mexborough and the rest of Doncaster are on the doorstep. If you are further out, ring and ask. Ian will give you a straight answer.

How long can the scaffold stay up?

For as long as the work needs it. Say how long your roofer or builder expects to be when you ask for a price, so the quote covers it. If the job runs over, ring Ian before the date, not after.

What does S.I.R stand for?

Steve, Ian, Rowson. Steve was Ian's dad, and the scaffolder Ian learned the trade beside. Ian runs the business now. Rowson is the family name. It reads as Sir, which suits a firm that means to be polite and turn up.

When can I ring?

The phone is answered Monday to Friday from 8am. Outside those hours, send the four questions through the site or a WhatsApp message and Ian will pick it up when he is next on.
